This project will publish the second volume of a case collection in the Humanism in Business Book Series demonstrating how humanistic management is put into practice.

In 2011 Humanistic Management in Practice, the first book of the Humanism in Business Book Series came out at Springer (Palgrave Macmillan), with whom the Humanistic Management Network has brought to market 14 books in the series to date. The first volume of Humanistic Management in Practice presented 19 case examples of businesses from around the globe that are anchored in principles we uphold in Humanistic Management. The volume served as an important 'proof of concept' by demonstrating the feasibility of business models and management styles that embrace a humanistic and reject a mechanistic view of the firm. In its introduction the book had also introduced unconditional respect for human dignity as the foundation for how we define Humanistic Management.

Five years on it is high time to publish a second volume with a new set of case examples of humanistic business leadership at its finest.

Many leaders today have participated in executive education programs to gain new insights, train skills and build networks in order to progress in their careers or develop new opportunities for doing so. But do executive education providers really deliver on their promise of shaping tomorrow's leaders?

Executive education provides one of the rare opportunities for creating a space in which leaders can reflect on their role and ask how they can contribute to a more equitable and more sustainable planet; how they can deliver on the dual objective of creating business success and value for society. Without actively integrating this dimension in leadership development offers, executive education providers are facing the question of how they themselves assume responsibility.

From the 14th to the 16th of November 2016 the fifth Business and Human Rights (BHR) Forum of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights at the United Nations (OHCHR) took place in Palais des Nations, Geneva, Switzerland. On the 13th of November 2016 we invited the Humanistic Management delegation to a pre-BHR Forum workshop on Humanistic Management.

The workshop was geared towards an active exchange and assessment of opportunities to collaborate on initiatives related to Humanistic Management. It was therefore centered on an open discussion framed by a presentation on foundational principles of Humanistic Management. The presentation highlighted the Context, Mental Model, Key Drivers and the Management Paradigm for Humanistic Management.
